Spring 2013

Not that I'm a big fan of Sci-fi but this statement I read from one of my trend forecasting site, has helped put things into perspective.

As time flies by and I procastinate further, Spring 2013 is suffering. I'm buried under paper and pantones still trying to find inspiration. There's a whole sensiblity and movement towards being green, bringing things back to its core with innovation to make it more efficient. Green fabrics, being aware of how the product we use affects our environment, tech fabrics making them more efficient having more then one functionality. So many thoughts and ideas, they all go hand in hand yet contradict each other.

At the end of the day, my boss just wants to know what is going to sell and thats my responsiblity.
Wish me luck! Although luck has little to do with this .

Pet peeves

Now I wrote this post a while ago and today felt like the perfect time to post it , cause my dear send me this picture LOL !! OMG !!! I'm gonna start a cause to get man into pants that FIT !

Dear Men (specifically the USA),

Please stop buying pants that DO NOT fit you.

• All that extra fabric around your ass is not sexy, in fact it makes your ass look big and if you thought all that baggy clothes make you look skinnier think again !

For example these men

• Please just f**king pull up that pants and don't put a f**king a belt on it, if you're going to wear it below your butt. FYI belts are for holding up your pants so they don't fall off and accessorising so there is no point in wearing a belt if it's just to wrap your ugly butt crack.

Now that its all out I feel much better now .  :)

* this post in no means targets anyone in particular, but rather a group of people known as straight men most likely, I am completely aware that there are men in the USA who are extremely stylish and have pants that fit . Yes, I'm stereotyping but seriously, some men really need help and maybe they're just not aware how ugly they look in those clothes and no one is kind enough to tell them the truth.

Nice freezing cold spring day !

While the weather was really kind to us the past two week, and I had just started packing my winter clothes away to make way for new Spring stuff , mother nature decided to throw us a curve ball yesterday!! HA HA she laughs just when you thought you can wear your Spring stuff  :(

So enough about weather, it is, what it is anyway. Can't think of any better way to conquer this then to do an outfit post . Alright, here it is for all you people who ask for more outfits. If you're wondering why I'm laughing in the shots, its cause I find this taking pictures of yourself and pretending not to pose but posing REALLY AWKWARD!!!!  There's no way around this except to laugh about it.
While I like blogs that have good personal style and I appreciate them . How narcissistic can you be ?

Carven , J'adore la maison Carven

Now to redeem myself after all that begging and whoring for people to follow me on bloglovin ,facebook and TWITTER !!!!! A post about Carven, they started as a haute couture house in Paris ( click here if you want to know more ) and in 2010 which is about the time I discovered Carven in Bon Marché and Primtemps, Paris, a talented young man named Guillaume Henry joined the house and launch its RTW collection. The first time I laid eyes on his clothes it was love at first sight ! His clothes were feminine, elegant , edgy and neo classics all at once. His play with structure and prints took my breath away, after having work in fashion for the last couple years, I have an extreme admiration for pattern making and an unusual appreciation for prints. Guillaume Henry fulfilled all my needs and wants, what the hell I'll marry the boy if I could. Just kidding ! my darling boyfriend might be reading this. ;)
I know the title of my post may sound a bit pretentious but I must confess, I LOVE CARVEN!!!! Now how much of my paycheck has gone to Carven ? All I can say is, I think that figure probably lies somewhere on the range of too much. So, its only fair that I have a post dedicated to Carven and I hope all of you check out his stuff, they are amazing !  These are just a small selection of the pieces I like , the picture are from Carven.com and they are part of his Summer 2012 collection.

Macarons and Manicures

Alright, so yesterday was not just the first day of spring (yay! mini celebration) , it was also Macaron Day !!! I'm not sure, if this is great for my waistline, but I think its got to be one of my favourite days in the calender. In honor of that Me and Gigi Ice cream decided to make some Macarons, to be specific we made chocolate macarons with the Laduree recipe book it was in french so finally there was some use for my french skills, and black sesame macarons with dark chocolate ganache. Mmmmm  ... and I know how you guys LOVE pictures but I have to apologize I'm completely new to this blogging thing and I'm worst at remembering to take pictures. Yes that's right I'm a non trigger happy asian , we're a new breed.

Anyway, while waiting to fill our macaron shells, we started working on my nails and I liked them so much, can't help but want to share them with you. Thank you Gigi Ice cream for painting my nails, oh be sure to check out her blog as well :)
